EcoMart: Sustainable & Eco-Friendly Product Storefront
Overview & Concept
EcoMart is a conscious commerce storefront web application designed for environmentally friendly products, organic home goods, and zero-waste accessories. The interface explores ethical e-commerce patterns, pairing sustainable product shopping (/eco-products) with transparent environmental impact narratives (/mission).
Frontend Architecture & Implementation Details
1. Component Hierarchy & Layout
EcoProductGrid: Multi-column product layout displaying organic goods, materials composition tags, and eco-certification badges.SustainabilityBadgeList: Reusable badge component rendering standardized icons and labels (e.g. 100% Recyclable, Certified Organic, Plastic-Free Packaging, Cruelty-Free).ImpactMetricCard: Visual informational cards illustrating environmental benefits (e.g. estimated plastic bottles saved or carbon offset per purchase).MissionNarrativeSection: Editorial story layout detailing brand sourcing ethics and sustainability commitments.EcoFilterChips: Interactive chip filters allowing shoppers to isolate products by specific sustainability certifications.
2. Client-Side State Management
- Certification-Based Filtering: Users can filter the catalog by multiple simultaneous environmental criteria, combining category tags with active sustainability badges.
- Client Cart Actions: Manages selected eco-friendly products in persistent local state with instantaneous quantity modifications.
3. Accessible Design & Earth-Tone Palette
- Built with Tailwind CSS utilizing a calming, earth-tone color system (sage greens, warm neutrals, charcoal text) engineered to meet WCAG AA contrast standards.
- Fully responsive across desktop and mobile devices with accessible ARIA tags on filter chips and badge tooltips.
Scope & Implementation Notes
- Developed as a dedicated frontend storefront prototype demonstrating ethical commerce UX, sustainability badge data modeling, and responsive component design without a persistent database backend.
